Krylon Launches Water-Based Spray Paint Line

Krylon, part of The Sherwin-Williams Company’s Consumer Brands Group, has launched Krylon Harmony, a new all-purpose spray paint line based on a water-based formulation.
The company said Harmony offers low odor, nonflammable performance and reduced overspray compared with traditional solvent-based paint. The formulation also provides soap-and-water cleanup and is designed for use on surfaces including wood, metal, most plastics, glass and masonry.
The line has earned GREENGUARD Gold Certification for low chemical emissions and is available in 16 SKUs across gloss, satin and matte finishes. Krylon said the formulation is intended to expand when and where spray-paint projects can be completed, including indoor projects when used in a well-ventilated area.
Krylon Harmony is rolling out nationally at select retailers beginning in August.
The launch brings water-based technology into a consumer aerosol category traditionally associated with solvent-based formulations. Its combination of lower odor, nonflammability, reduced overspray and low-emissions certification highlights continued formulation changes aimed at reducing some of the limitations associated with conventional spray coatings.
