Henkel has doubled the size of its Silicon Valley Application Center, relocating the operation to a new 15,000-square-foot facility in Santa Clara, California, as demand grows for electronics application development and customer collaboration.
The expanded center houses production, testing and analytical systems used for proof-of-concept work in consumer electronics. Henkel also increased the facility’s technical team to support application development and product commercialization.
The company said materials evaluated at the center include underfills, structural adhesives, encapsulants and thermal-control solutions used to support the functionality and reliability of electronic systems. The facility allows Henkel and its customers to evaluate material performance under application conditions before commercialization.
Henkel said the expansion is part of a broader strategy to place technical application resources close to customers. The company has established or expanded application centers in India, China, Singapore and Vietnam in addition to its Silicon Valley operation.
Henkel opened its original Santa Clara application center in 2022. Since then, work conducted with customers at the facility has included materials applications for AI data-center systems, high-performance computing and consumer technologies such as extended- and virtual-reality headsets and smart glasses.
