The Chemours Co. has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, documenting progress toward its emissions, climate and operational-safety targets.
Chemours reported that air and water process emissions of fluorinated organic chemicals declined 80% between 2018 and 2025. The company has set a goal of reducing those process emissions by at least 99% by 2030.
Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse-gas emissions decreased 57% from the 2018 baseline, approaching the company’s target of a 60% reduction by 2030. Chemours also reported a 30% reduction in absolute Scope 3 emissions, which it attributed partly to greater adoption of lower-global-warming-potential refrigerants.
The company recorded no Tier 1 process-safety events or distribution-safety incidents in 2025. It also introduced a companywide safety initiative intended to provide a consistent approach to safety performance across its operations.
Additional work described in the report includes emissions-detection, measurement and abatement technologies and efforts to improve manufacturing and supply-chain performance.
Chemours supplies industrial and specialty chemicals to coatings and other markets through its Titanium Technologies, Thermal & Specialized Solutions and Advanced Performance Materials businesses. Its coatings-facing portfolio includes Ti-Pure titanium dioxide products.
The report is relevant to coatings manufacturers following sustainable coatings and manufacturing, supplier emissions and materials stewardship.
