PPG provided a $71,000 grant, equivalent to approximately 62,000 euros, including about 265 gallons, or 1,000 liters, of Sigma Coatings products.

The donated coatings included Sigma Coatings Contour Aqua PU Gloss, a scratch-resistant waterborne enamel for wood and metal, and Sigma Coatings Sigmatex Superlatex, an emulsion coating intended to provide a durable finish.

Volunteers repainted approximately 6,000 square meters of corridors, classrooms and common areas. Work included surface preparation, wall repairs and the refurbishment of door frames, wood surfaces, railings and other interior elements.

Topdom, a Slovenian supplier of construction and insulation products and a local distributor of PPG brands, donated painting tools and protective supplies.

The finished color scheme combines bright white surfaces, warm accent colors and muted natural greens. The school said the refreshed interiors are intended to create a more welcoming and supportive learning environment while improving durability, hygiene and visual quality.

Osnovna šola Dragotina Ketteja serves students with developmental, cognitive and learning challenges through adapted educational programs. PPG said the project is expected to affect more than 500 students, teachers and staff members.

Since 2015, PPG’s Colorful Communities program has completed more than 635 projects affecting more than 10.3 million people in over 50 countries.

The renovation illustrates how waterborne and durable architectural coatings can address surface protection, cleanability and design requirements in high-use schools.
