Ford Plans $1 Billion Paint Shop at Kentucky Truck Plant
Ford Motor Co. plans to invest $1 billion in a new paint shop at its Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville as part of continued modernization of the manufacturing operation.
The new paint shop will replace the plant's existing facility, with groundbreaking planned by the end of 2026. Kentucky Truck Plant produces F-Series Super Duty trucks, the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator and is Ford's largest and highest-revenue U.S. manufacturing plant.
Ford said the upgraded paint operation is intended to improve paint quality and manufacturing efficiency while supporting environmental performance. Detailed information about the coating process, application equipment, pretreatment, curing systems or equipment suppliers has not yet been announced.
The investment comes as Ford undertakes several other major manufacturing projects in Kentucky, including the transformation of Louisville Assembly Plant and changes at its Glendale battery facility.
