Goodyear Plans Exit From Remaining Chemical Manufacturing

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has approved plans to close its chemical manufacturing facilities in Niagara Falls, New York, and Bayport, Texas, continuing its exit from the chemical manufacturing business.
The company expects approximately 85 job reductions and plans to substantially complete the closures by the end of 2027. Goodyear estimates pre-tax charges of approximately $55 million to $75 million associated with the plan, including about $30 million in cash costs.
The facilities were among the chemical operations Goodyear retained when it completed the sale of the majority of its chemical business in 2025.

The remaining operations are more directly tied to rubber chemicals than coatings, so I would not present this as a coatings-supply disruption. It is still worth a brief as another example of upstream specialty-chemical capacity and portfolio rationalization that PCI's supplier audience tracks.
