Surventis to Supply Coatings and Application Training for Lola T70S Program

Surventis and Lola Cars announced a coatings partnership for the T70S program, naming Glasurit the paint and coatings supplier for 16 vehicles offered in track and road configurations.
The package includes primers, fillers, basecoats and clearcoats for composite components and metal parts. It is built around the Glasurit 100 Line waterborne refinish system and includes training in application processes and spray technology.
The partners said the training is intended to reduce material use and application time while maintaining color precision and surface quality. Mike Strydom, technical manager at Surventis Coatings Services UK, emphasized finish durability and application efficiency. Lola Executive Innovation Director Matt Faulks said the collaboration supports the program's manufacturing and materials goals.
Both vehicles use Lola's patent-pending Natural Composite System, which combines natural fibers with a plant-based resin. Lola describes that bodywork material as petrochemical-free. The description applies to the bodywork, not to every coating layer applied over it.
Waterborne Basecoat and Color-Control Support
Glasurit's 100 Line technical overview describes a waterborne basecoat range with VOC content below 250 g/L. The range uses more than 90 mixing bases and digital color-retrieval tools to support matching and formulation selection.
Those product features form part of the finishing system selected for the Lola project. The partnership announcement does not present measured production results from the 16-car program; its material-saving and process-efficiency statements describe the partners' objectives and the supplier's system capabilities.
The track-focused T70S and road-registered T70S GT re-create the appearance of Lola's 1960s T70 while incorporating newer manufacturing methods and materials.
The project connects coating selection, composite substrates and spray-process training, making it relevant to finishing operations working with mixed-material components.
