Eastman Sets Solvent and Plasticizer Price Increases for Late October and November

Eastman Chemical Co. announced separate price increases for selected solvents and plasticizers, with changes scheduled to take effect at the end of October and beginning of November.
Solvent Increases Take Effect October 31
According to Eastman’s solvent price notice, the company will implement an off-list increase of $0.10 per pound, equivalent to $0.22 per kilogram, in North America and Latin America.
The increase applies to Eastman EB, DB and DTB solvents, along with EB acetate and DB acetate. It covers all package types and grades, excluding EastaPure.
The changes take effect October 31, 2026, or as contracts allow. Eastman attributed the adjustments to increased market demand and operating costs, particularly raw materials.
Plasticizer Adjustments Follow November 1
A separate Eastman notice lists the following increases for North America, effective November 1, 2026, or as contracts allow.
| Product | Increase per pound | Increase per kilogram |
|---|---|---|
| Eastman 168 non-phthalate plasticizer | $0.05 | $0.11 |
| Eastman DOP plasticizer | $0.08 | $0.18 |
| Eastman DOA plasticizer | $0.06 | $0.13 |
| Eastman VersaMax Plus | $0.05 | $0.11 |
The plasticizer adjustments apply to all grades and packages of the listed products. Their regional coverage differs from the solvent announcement, which also includes Latin America.
The announcements give formulators and purchasing teams specific product and timing information for reviewing raw material costs, including materials used in solventborne coatings. The stated changes apply to the listed products and regions rather than Eastman’s entire portfolio.
