Reichhold Inc. said it is expanding production of glycidyl methacrylate acrylic (GMA) resins by 4 million lbs. per year at the company's facility in Vienna, with the added capacity expected to become operational in the second quarter of 2003.

Reichhold Inc., Research Triangle Park, NC, said it is expanding production of glycidyl methacrylate acrylic (GMA) resins by 4 million lbs. per year at the company's facility in Vienna, with the added capacity expected to become operational in the second quarter of 2003. The company in early 2002 expanded production capacity for polyester resins for powder coatings by 9 million lbs. at its manufacturing site near Sao Paulo, Brazil. Reichhold said the expanded GMA resin capacity comes in response to market growth in areas such as powder clearcoats for automotive applications and the use of acrylic resins as crosslinkers in matte industrial finishes.
