ARNHEM, The Netherlands - Akzo Nobel Polymer Chemicals announced an agreement to sell its methacrylates monomer business to Sartomer Corp., based in Exton, PA, for undisclosed amount.
Sartomer is a supplier of acrylate and methacrylate monomers, oligomers, photoinitiators, hydrocarbon resins, and other specialty chemicals use in radiation-cure coatings, ink, adhesives, elastomers, and plastics.
Akzo Nobel Polymer Chemicals said the business was no longer viewed as a fit with its product portfolio, and said it accounted for less than 3% of Polymer Chemicals sales.
