CARY, NC - Lord Corp. has acquired L/T Technologies L.L.C., a joint-venture business of Lord Corp. and Treffert GmbH and Co. KG and a manufacturer of acrylic UV-cure and waterborne coatings for wood products. L/T Technologies is based in Cary, NC, near Lord Corp.'s headquarters. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

Lord Corp. said L/T Technologies will remain the exclusive licensee representing North, Central and South America for the Treffert Group and its wood-finishing technology.

L/T Technologies specializes in the manufacture of coatings for printed composite boards, hardwood flooring, linear profiles and door skins, and furniture foils. The products are typically applied as multi-layer systems by roll-coating methods and cured by UV processes. The products are based on micro-and/or nano-particle-modified acrylated resins, and are said to provide a high level of hardness and scratch, impact and abrasion resistance.
