Sartomer Co., Exton, PA, announced the launch of a strategic alliance with Kaucuk, a.s. of the Czech Republic, a member of the Unipetrol Group, involving marketing and sales of Kaucuk's Krasol(tm) polybutadiene products. The products, currently marketed in the Czech Republic and other parts of Europe, are used in the coatings, adhesives, sealants, polyurethanes, and rubber industries. Sartomer plans to integrate sales and marketing functions involving the Krasol line, including 24 products and several developmental products, into its Specialty Polymers Group. The addition will expand Sartomer's range of polybutadiene resins, which includes the recently acquired Ricon and Poly bd(r) resins. Sartomer said it also plans to develop new products using the combined technologies of both companies.
