Akzo Nobel Acquires 50% Stake in Mexican Company
The resulting joint-venture company, Akzo Nobel INDA S.A. de C.V., will manufacture powder-coatings products carrying Akzo's global Interpon brand at the existing INDA facilities in Monterrey, Mexico. Terms of the transaction were not announced.
Bill McPherson, general manager of Akzo Nobel's Powder Coatings business unit, said the deal reflects the expansion of manufacturing activities in Mexico and Akzo Nobel's plan to supply customers "wherever they operate." He described INDA as a "well-established and well-respected supplier of powder coatings in Mexico."
