Bayer said it will build a new aqueous polyurethane dispersions manufacturing facility.

Bayer Corp., Pittsburgh, said it will build a new aqueous polyurethane dispersions manufacturing facility at the company’s New Martinsville, WV, site to produce water-based polyurethanes for the coatings and adhesives markets. The facility is expected to begin operation in the fourth quarter of this year. The $17.3-million expansion will give Bayer the capability to produce aqueous polyurethane dispersions in the United States, offering a domestic source for the NAFTA market, the company said.
