MONTVALE, NJ - Benjamin Moore & Co. announced that Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Denis Abrams has been named president, effective March 1. Abrams will remain chief operating officer, the company said. Abrams succeeds Yvan Dupuy, who remains chairman and CEO, as company president.

Abrams joined Benjamin Moore & Co. as director of Manufacturing following the company's 1995 acquisition of S.L. Gillman Paint, an Atlanta-based manufacturer of industrial coatings owned and operated by Abrams and his brothers. He was elected vice president-Operations in 1999 and was named executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2001.

The company also announced the appointment of Don Devine, senior vice president and chief financial officer, as executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective March 1. Devine joined Benjamin Moore & Co. in 1998 as vice president and chief financial officer, and formerly was vice president-Finance and chief financial officer of the Dannon Co.
