Solutia Inc., St. Louis, announced the start of production at a polyester powder-coatings resin manufacturing unit in Suzano, Brazil, described as the largest such facility in South America. The unit will supply powder-coatings resins to users in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela and other countries in the region, the company said. The company plans to double production capacity at the site by mid-2001. New technical-services laboratories and a warehouse also were opened at the site.
