Akzo Nobel N.V., Arnhem, The Netherlands, announced plans to increase manufacturing capacity for surfactants and fatty acids in Singapore, Malaysia and Japan, with investments totaling $31.53 million. The company said it will spend 23 million euros to build a surfactants plant in Singapore, 6.5 million euros to increase production capacity at a plant in Malaysia and 5 million euros to boost capacity at LACO, a Japanese joint venture with Lion Corp.
