PITTSBURGH - PPG Industries Inc. announced several major management appointments, including the naming of Douglas C. Hepper as vice president, Market Initiatives, for the company's coatings businesses. Hepper was formerly vice president, Automotive Refinish, and has been succeeded in that position by Garry A. Goudy, formerly vice president, Automotive Replacement Glass.

Hepper joined PPG in 1973 as a coatings chemist, and has held a series of management positions including international managing director of Automotive Refinishes in Europe and general manager of Automotive Refinish before being elected vice president in 1999. Goudy joined PPG Canada Inc. in 1970 as a sales and marketing trainee. He held sales and management assignments in Canada and management position in the United States before being named general manager of Auto Replacement Glass and then vice president, Automotive Replacement Glass.

PPG also named Maurice V. Peconi vice president, Corporate Development. He was formerly vice president, Electronic Commerce and Insurance Services, and also was previously vice president of Architectural Coatings. He joined PPG in 19762 as a programmer analyst and held a series of financial and management positions, including vice president of Architectural Coatings from 1997 to 2000.
