DSM Desotech Inc. announced plans to expand production of UV-cure materials with the purchase of a manufacturing facility in Stanley, NC.

DSM Desotech Inc., Elgin, IL, announced plans to expand production of UV-cure materials with the purchase of a manufacturing facility in Stanley, NC. The plant, scheduled to begin operation in January 2002, will be the third new production facility for DSM Desotech in three years, following opening of plants in The Netherlands and Japan. The expansions are the result of growth in the optical-fiber and cable industry, the primary market for its UV-cure coatings, inks and matrix resins, the company said. The Stanley facility will absorb DSM Desotech’s current operation in Charlotte, NC, and will be expanded for the production of fiber-optic coating materials including hardcoats, CD lacquers, DVD bonding adhesives, and prototyping resins.
