PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy announced that the ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry (DAC) will host four invited symposia, four contributed sessions and an undergraduate poster session at Pittcon 2007. The DAC executive committee believes its members would be better served if the DAC hosted sessions at Pittcon instead of the 233rd ACS National Meeting and Exposition.

"Since Pittcon is the big meeting for analytical chemists, we've wanted to have a bigger presence there and be able to go where the majority of our membership goes," stated Laurie Locascio of the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the DAC chair-elect.

This experimental venture, a one-year trial, is expected to be a mutually beneficial arrangement between the DAC, ACS and Pittcon.

Pittcon Conference & Expo 2007 is being held Feb. 25-March 2 in Chicago. Abstracts are being solicited for the ACS-contributed symposia and poster session through the Pittcon website. Visit www.pittcon.org/ for more information.
