EXTON, PA – Global specialty chemicals manufacturer Sartomer
Co. has named Marcel de Wolf as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Dr. Luigi
Colantuoni, who accepted a new assignment with Sartomer’s parent company, TOTAL
S.A., in Paris.
In the new position, de Wolf will report to Bernard Pinatel,
Chief Executive Officer of Cray Valley, the resins division of TOTAL Specialty
Chemicals Branch. He will be responsible for general management of Sartomer,
with $575 million in annual sales, 13 manufacturing sites and nearly 600
employees. He will focus on the company’s continued global expansion, particularly
new investment projects in the Far East, the Americas and Europe.
From 2006 to 2008, de Wolf was Vice President of the
Coatings Resins Group for Cook Composites and Polymers (CCP), a sister company
of Sartomer within TOTAL Specialty Chemicals Branch. In that position, de Wolf
was responsible for CCP's liquid and powder resins, emulsions and additives
businesses.
Previously,
de Wolf held various management positions with SigmaKalon BV, a multi-national
paint and coatings manufacturer. These included assignments in Europe, the
Middle East and Asia. He also served as President/CEO of Sigma Coatings USA,
Inc., which suffered complete loss in Hurricane Katrina and whose U.S.
activities were assumed by SigmaKalon-Netherlands.
