BASF has named Uwe Liebelt Group Vice President of the company’s Acrylics and Dispersions business in North America based in Charlotte, NC.

CHARLOTTE, NC – BASF has named Uwe Liebelt Group Vice President of the company’s Acrylics and Dispersions business in North America based in Charlotte, NC. He replaces Cenan Ozmeral, who retired at the end of August. In his new assignment,
 
Liebelt is responsible for BASF’s global Kaolin clay business, as well as BASF’s acrylics and dispersions businesses in North America. Liebelt joined BASF in 1996. Following various positions in research, operations and controlling, he served as Director Controlling and Strategy for BASF's global Acrylics and Dispersions division between 2003 and 2005. In 2005, he was promoted to Vice President for the Inorganics Business Unit in North America.
 
Liebelt obtained a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Paderborn, Germany, and a doctorate in chemical engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.
