Greg Babe, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of both Bayer Corp. and Bayer MaterialScience LLC (BMS), has been named the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s Tech 50 CEO of the Year.

PITTSBURGH - Greg Babe, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of both Bayer Corp. and Bayer MaterialScience LLC (BMS), has been named the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s Tech 50 CEO of the Year.
 
Five area CEOs were finalists for the award, which singles out a business leader who makes significant company-wide contributions while demonstrating outstanding management and high levels of peer esteem. The Pittsburgh Technology Council acknowledged Babe for his civic contributions, as well as his visionary style of leadership.
 
Babe began his Bayer career in 1976 as part of a co-op program. He quickly rose through the ranks, holding various management positions in the Bayer Group organization, including assignments in Germany. In 2004 Babe was named President and CEO of BMS LLC, and on Oct. 1, 2008, he was given the added responsibility of President and CEO of Bayer Corp.
