HAMPTON, UK – PRA is sponsoring two events for the coatings industry. The first event, Predicting the Service Life of Organic Coatings: Options and Constraints, will be offered Jan. 21, 2009. The second event, Measurement & Testing of Coatings, is a two-day international conference and mini-exhibition taking place May 12-13, 2009.

PRA has organized Predicting the Service Life of Organic Coatings: Options and Constraints as a one-day symposium in which examples of different techniques and methods used to investigate durability and service life are presented. Eight papers have been selected for this purpose, but delegates are strongly encouraged to make additional short contributions and to participate in the concluding discussion. The issue to be discussed is whether alternative strategies, such as phenomenological, scientific or reliability-based, can be harmonized. Do they meet the needs of the coatings industry in a cost effective manner, and if not what are the gaps and what should be done to fill them? Visit http://www.pra-world/conferences for the symposium program.

Measurement & Testing of Coatings will cover the latest innovations in measurement and testing for the coatings industry. Along with papers from industry and academia, there will be a mini-exhibition where manufacturers can showcase their latest measuring and testing equipment. Papers are being solicited from a broad range of companies, including equipment manufacturers, paint manufacturers, end-users of coatings, quality consultants and academics.
