HASSLOCH, Germany - INTERPOLYMER GmbH, Hassloch, Germany, has announced that the first production line of a new facility for waterborne styrene-acrylic dispersions, acrylic solutions and wax dispersions has started production in Nanjing, China. The plant is scheduled to be fully operational for all technology platforms by June 2009.
 
The plant was constructed on a greenfield site at the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park with a current capacity of 40.000 metric tons annually and with additional space for further expansion.
 
“This modern manufacturing site will further strengthen our position as a global supplier of specialty acrylic polymers,” states Siegfried J. Gillich, General Manager responsible for business in the Europe/Asia-Pacific region. He added, “Our customers serviced by the sales office and polymer research center in Shanghai will benefit from the new production site, since we can respond to customer needs much faster and at lower total costs.”
 
The plant has been designed with the capabilities to manufacture environmentally friendly polymers and additives for specialty paints, inks and coatings, personal care products, detergents and cleaners, as well as for tailor-made polymers.
