WEST PATERSON, NJ – Shane Fleming is the new Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer for Cytec Industries Inc. The appointment became effective Jan. 1, 2009. As previously announced in October, Cytec’s Board of Directors elected Fleming to succeed David Lilley, who retired Dec. 31, 2008.

 

Fleming joined the Cytec predecessor company in 1983 in the Mining Chemicals group and over the years has taken positions of increasing responsibility in the United States, Australia and in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2003, Fleming took global responsibility for Cytec’s Specialty Chemicals business. In 2005, following the acquisition of the UCB chemicals business, he relocated to Brussels to assume full responsibility for the combined Specialty Chemicals operations. He was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer in July of 2008.
