SUNNYVALE, CA - Applied Chemical Laboratories Inc. has announced that one of the country’s largest powder-coating firms has selected Green Piranha 707 as a cost-effective and environmentally sound solution for stripping a wide range of industrial coatings.

The decision was made after several months of extensive testing and head-to-head comparison with other strippers. Green Piranha was found to provide excellent stripping results for most coatings and preserved the integrity of sensitive decorative films and alloys. According to the customer, there was no degradation of precision tolerances in medical, aerospace, military or electronic components.

Green Piranha offers significant cost benefits as well. Rejected parts can be stripped and recoated without plating, polishing or other intermediate steps, saving both time and money. A spokesperson for the powder-coating company noted, “by reducing reject rates we are able to offer our customers nearly 100 percent yield on mass production projects”.

Green Piranha was developed to promote an alternative to toxic and hazardous chemicals used in industrial paint processes. “We approach our formulation strategy with the customers’ needs foremost in mind,” said Shawn Sahbari, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Applied Chemical Laboratories. “Performance is paramount and need not be compromised when considering green chemistry. We combine sustainable, bio-based ingredients with post-consumer recycled materials to achieve cost-effective solutions that contribute to a positive bottom line for customers. By employing a cradle-to-cradle philosophy, we are meeting industry needs while preserving natural resources and reducing our customer’s environmental footprint.”
