ACS 2010 Already Generating Great Interest
CHARLOTTE, NC – The American Coatings Show & Conference 2010 will take place from Tuesday, April 13, through Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC. The conference will begin the day before, running from Monday, April 12, through Wednesday, April 14, 2010. And even at this early date, the show has already delivered another positive surprise.
At the start of the year, the world economic crisis seemed to throw a dark shadow on many industries, but the current number of exhibitors points to clear confidence in the future. By the close of early registration for the 2010 American Coatings Show, the number of registered exhibitors and the amount of floor space reserved were significantly higher than at the comparable time for the preceding show. 2010 attendees can look forward to a top-level array of innovative products and services, excellent contacts, and the latest technical knowledge.
Andy Doyle, President of the National Paint & Coatings Association/Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology (NPCA/FSCT), looks to the future with confidence, “I am increasingly optimistic about the performance of the coatings industry in 2010. After a significant downturn in 2009, our data indicate that overall volume should increase by two to three percent in 2010. Manufacturing and housing sales have shown recent sustained improvements. In addition, by focusing on cost control in 2009, the industry has positioned itself for increasingly positive returns when volumes begin their climb toward pre-recession levels. This is a very resilient industry and, as such, I believe 2010 will prove to be a successful year.”
