SOUTHFIELD, MI – BASF has announced that it will participate in the 2010 SAE World Congress, April 13-15, 2010, at the Cobo Center in Detroit, MI. In addition to being a Silver Sponsor of SAE World Congress, BASF is co-chairing a coatings technical session with Hyundai-Kia America Technical Center Inc. (HATCI). The technical session is titled “Advances in Coating” and will contain presentations from HATCI, Henkel Technologies, PPG Industries and BASF Corp.
 
“Hyundai-Kia places a very high priority on the performance and appearance of automotive coatings, which directly affect the look and appeal of our cars,” said Jim Keller, Senior Engineer for HATCI. “BASF is a strong coatings partner to us, and we are very pleased to work with them to present advanced coatings information to congress attendees.”
 
The new coatings session will provide information on topics from exterior appearance and performance of advance coating and pre-treatment technologies to new test methodologies for liquid-applied sound deadener and strategic decision making through eco-efficiency analysis.
