WASHINGTON, DC - ASTM International Committee B08 on Metallic and Inorganic Coatings has formed a new subcommittee to develop standards for nanostructured coatings. Coating professionals are invited to contribute their expertise and collaborate with other professionals to impact the final outcome of standards introduced by this subcommittee.

B08.16 on Nanostructured Coatings is currently developing its first proposed standard: WK29468 New Specification for Standard Specification for Galvanic Protection of Steel using a Nanostructured Coating of 95% Zinc.

According to Christina Lomasney, President and CEO, Modumetal and Chair of B08.16, “The primary users of ASTM WK29468 will be steel companies that make galvanized products, including sheet metal, wire and structural products, as well as industry users who face the challenges of corrosion.”
