CLEVELAND - The National Coil Coating Association (NCCA) has presented three awards to member companies that have demonstrated excellence in safety as part of its annual Safety Award Program. Steelscape (Kalama, WA) received two awards, the 2010 Safety Award as well as the 2010 Safety Award for Best Employee Involvement. Metal Prep (Houston, TX) received the 2010 award for the Most Improved Safety Performance. The awards were presented at the NCCA's Fall Meeting in September.

For many years, NCCA has collected data to help its coater member companies with facilities in the United States. This data has been used primarily to help NCCA members benchmark their operations, share best practices and to benchmark the industry against other industries. The data is used to select the finalists in the annual NCCA Safety Award Program. The winner is selected based on its safety record and its demonstration of excellence through the safety programs that it has implemented.
