Dow Named to Dow Jones Sustainability Index
MIDLAND, MI - The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index announced its rating of The Dow Chemical Co. as one of the top performers in the global chemical industry, marking the 10th time Dow has received this recognition since the launch of the index.
Dow was one of only nine chemical companies to be recognized in the World Index. Dow achieved the highest possible score for operational eco-efficiency and environmental reporting, and the highest score in the sector for standards for suppliers. The company's overall score was 83 percent, 28 percentage points higher than the average for the industry group.
The index's annual review is based on a thorough analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance, assessing issues such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate-change mitigation, supply-chain standards and labor practices.
