On an annual basis, the MPPA conducts a survey to identify those members that have maintained excellence in safety standards, and awards are given at the MPPA’s annual meeting.
This year, the MPPA awarded Lonza’s Williamsport plant with two safety awards due to the plant achieving one year without a lost-time accident and achieving a low OSHA recordable injury rate.
Safety is critical in all manufacturing industries. However, it is given greater attention in the powdered metal industry due to the critical issue of dust particle containment. Lonza has served the powdered metal industry for over 50 years and manufactures Acrawax™ C, which is used as a lubricant in the formation of powdered metal parts.
