The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (Dearborn, MI) has named Richard Peters, chief manufacturing engineer at The Timken Co., as president for 2004. Joining Peters on the executive committee are Eugene Nelson, president-elect, Ford Motor Co. (retired); William Geary, vice president, The Boeing Co.; Edward Abbott, secretary/treasurer, Ford Motor Co. (retired); and SME directors F. Brian Holmes, Columbia Plastics Ltd.; Richard Kegg, Milacron Inc. (retired); and George West Jr., PACCAR Inc.

Crompton Corp.'s (Middlebury, CT) board of directors has named Robert Wood president and CEO. Vincent Calarco, chairman, president and CEO for the last 18 years, will remain chairman until his retirement later this year.

Eckart America L.P. has promoted Frank Jischke to general manager-Louisville Operations in Kentucky, with responsibility for aluminum-pigment production, technical-service, product-development, and sales and marketing functions for the coatings and plastics market segments.

Pan Technology Inc. (Carlstadt, NJ) has appointed Robert Whitely to executive vice president and general manager, responsible for sales, marketing, R&D and technical service.
