DuPont Powder Coatings expands its interest in Mexico by completing the acquisition of Powder Coatings de Mexico to strengthen its interest in the Americas powder coatings marketplace.

The acquisition complements DuPont Powder's overall offering in the Americas. "Our many years together have made it apparent that the synergies brought to the market align flawlessly with our growth strategy for the Americas," says Dave Lazzeri, President of DuPont Powder Coatings, Americas. "This relationship has been a tremendous success, and completing this acquisition will only strengthen our position as a leader in the Americas powder market," says Steve Houston, vice president of sales and marketing, Americas.

Powder Coatings de Mexico, now DuPont Powder Coatings de Mexico, was founded by Javier Alvarado Quiroga in 1990. In 1997, then Herbert's-O'Brien entered into a joint venture with Powder Coatings de Mexico in a successful attempt to expand its presence in the North America market. DuPont acquired Herberts GmbH in 1998.
