The guide encourages effective communications and pollution prevention, and it provides useful information on waste management topics such as siting, designing, operations, monitoring, taking corrective action and closing industrial waste management units.

TheGuide for Industrial Waste Management, its corresponding CD-ROM, and the user's guide and technical background documents for the Industrial Waste Management Evaluation Model (IWEM) and Industrial Waste Air Model (IWAIR) models can be ordered free of charge from EPA's National Service Center for Environmental Publications (NSCEP). The guide can also be downloaded from http://www.epa.gov/epaoswer/non-hw/industd/order.htm.
