Qure-It Systems, Inc., based in Ann Arbor, Mich., has signed a commercialization and distribution agreement with Dürr Systems, Inc., Plymouth, Mich., for Qure-It's visible light curing systems. The agreement provides exclusive global distribution rights to Dürr throughout the automotive industry and is expected to help commercialize Qure-It's technology, which dries and cures paints/cosmetic finishes using electromagnetic (EM) energy from visible light. Qure-It has applied to the Michigan 21st Century Jobs fund for $2 million of financial support to finish the commercialization and initiate product sales. The company's visible light curing systems reportedly reduce energy and manufacturing costs over traditional industrial ovens, while increasing productivity.
