The Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology (FSCT) has issued a Call for Papers for the "Coating Wood and Wood Composites: Designing for Durability" Conference. Scheduled for July 23-25, 2007, in Seattle, WA, this program is part of the FSCT's continuing Advancements in Coatings Series (ACSeries).

The Organizing Task Force, co-chaired by R. Sam Williams, Forest Products Laboratory; Harold Hower, Journal of Architectural Coatings, and Vickie Scarborough, The Sherwin-Williams Co., is seeking presentations on the following and related topics: understanding wood substrates; performance products, application and testing; designing and durability; eliminating damage to wood through building envelope design; engineered wood composites; and the global marketplace. Those interested in presenting a paper should submit a 150 to 200 word abstract, along with contact information, by October 9, 2006.
