Robert Spadoni has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Dallas-based Ribelin Sales. Spadoni has also assumed the duties of president and CEO of KODA Distribution Group, one of the largest specialty chemical distributors in the country, consisting of Monson Companies, based in Leominster, MA; GMZ, based in Cincinnati, OH; and recently Ribelin Sales.

Jim Rees

General Manager, Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes

Akzo Nobel has appointed Jim Rees to succeed Rinus Rooseboom as general manager of its Car Refinishes business unit, effective January 1, 2007. Jim Rees, a 25-year veteran of the coatings business, previously served as general manager of the sub-business unit (SBU) Car Refinishes Americas. He spent much of his career with a major U.S.-based paint maker and has led teams in R&D, operations, sales, marketing and general management. Rees will be based in the Netherlands. AB Ghosh, currently SBU manager Marine and Protective Coatings Americas, has assumed the position of general manager Americas. Rinus Rooseboom has been appointed general manager of Akzo Nobel’s newly formed Decorative Coatings global business unit, which integrates the two former Decorative Coatings business units, Deco Europe and Deco International.

Mario Orduz

National Product Manager, Uyemura International

Uyemura International Corp. has appointed Mario Orduz to the position of national product manager. Based at the company’s tech center in Southington, CT, Orduz brings a significant amount of technical and product management experience to his new position. He spent 18 years with Tyco Electronics in PWB Manufacturing Engineering, six years with Cookson Electronics as technical service manager and product introduction manager, and most recently, five years as product marketing manager, electronics, with Atotech USA.

Rick la Cour

Regional Sales Manager, Dörken Corp. USA

Dörken Corp. USA, the Ann Arbor-based North American unit of Dörken MKS-Systeme GmbH, Herdecke, Germany, has appointed Rick la Cour to the position of regional sales manager, representing the northern and southeastern U.S. la Cour will be responsible for growing the company’s customer base by establishing new accounts of both auto industry OEMs and its network of Tier One/Two suppliers, plating operations and other industries in the region, and for providing continuing service and support to the organization’s existing customers. He has more than 20 years of sales, marketing and customer service management, with nearly 12 years in the plating and coatings sector. He most recently served as managing director/vice president sales and marketing for Superior Coatings and Finishes, Elizabethtown, KY.

Christopher T. Roberts

Vice President - Global Supply Chain, SI Group

Chris Roberts, formerly general manager of Global Supply Chain at SI Group, has been promoted to vice president – Global Supply Chain. Roberts is responsible for all of the sourcing and logistics of the global company and is in charge of the SI Group Energy LLC, which operates a plant in Monticello, FL. Also a member of the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) and the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA), Roberts has been an employee of SI Group for 15 years.

Lorraine Ulrich has joined RPM International Inc. as director of internal audit. Ulrich most recently served as director – internal audit at Cleveland-based Oglebay Norton. She brings to RPM an extensive career in accounting and business coupled with more than 20 years of internal and external auditing experience.

Philip Masonhas joined Deerfield Urethane Inc., a subsidiary of Bayer MaterialScience, as product/process development engineer. Mason has more than 20 years of engineering and technical leadership experience working in the chemical and polymers industry, as well as for the U.S. Air Force. He will be responsible for optimizing core products and processes while leading the innovation of new value-added grades of polyurethane and elastomeric film and sheet.

Roger Kahlerhas joined the company as a staff sales and new business development manager. Kahler brings more than 15 years of experience in consultative business-to-business materials sales in the automotive, construction, military, and consumer products and appliances markets. He will be responsible for managing existing Deerfield Urethane business and developing new business opportunities in the eastern U.S. and Canada.
