BASF’s Glasurit 90 Line Waterborne Basecoat was showcased October 30, 2006, at The Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, when Jay Leno unveiled his “Eco-Jet” dream car. This invitation-only event was the evening before the well-attended SEMA show for automotive specialty products. The Eco-Jet’s carbon fiber body was finished completely with Glasurit environmentally friendly paint products. “Using water-based paints instead of solvent-based dramatically reduces emissions during the application process,” said Darlene Eilenberger, BASF brand manager, NAFTA. The Glasurit 90 Line has been in the U.S. and Canadian market since 1993.
