Andretti Green Racing Chooses Sherwin-Williams as Finishes Provider - Posted 08/01/07
Andretti Green Racing, a leading race team that competes in both the IndyCar Series and American Le Mans Series, has chosen Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes as its official paint and automotive finishes provider.
“Sherwin-Williams has been providing superior automotive finishes to the automotive and motorsport industry for years,” said Michael Andretti, second-generation racecar legend and co-owner of Andretti Green Racing. “We wanted a paint provider who is as committed to quality paint as we are to winning.”
Owned and operated by Michael Andretti, Kim Green and Kevin Savoree, Andretti Green Racing won back-to-back IndyCar Series championships in 2004 and 2005 and has claimed two Indianapolis 500 victories since established in late 2002. The team's IndyCar Series driver lineup includes rising star Marco Andretti who won Rookie of the Year honors for both the 2006 Indianapolis 500 and 2006 IndyCar Series, 2007 Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti, 2004 IndyCar Series champion Tony Kanaan and female phenom Danica Patrick, who was named Rookie of the Year for both the 2005 Indianapolis 500 and the 2005 IndyCar Series. The drivers for the team’s American Le Mans Series entry include racing veterans Bryan Herta and Marino Franchitti.
The paint schemes for the Andretti Green teams will feature new Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Planet Color™ technology. “This line of optically enhanced coatings adds a layer of vibrancy and life to each team’s car as well as enhancing sponsor logos and design,” said Bobby Moody, SWAFC National Accounts Manager, Motorsports.
“These new colors will help Andretti Green Racing add more visual excitement to each race and bring new levels of fan interaction to the sport,” added Moody.
