Rohm and Haas Co. has finalized the sale of its European Automotive Coatings business to the Mader Group. The company also has signed a definitive agreement to sell its UCD Colorants business to NB Coatings, Inc., of Lansing, IL.

Rohm and Haas Co. has finalized the sale of its European Automotive Coatings business, including its manufacturing site in Strullendorf, Germany, to the Mader Group, a leading independent manufacturer of high-tech industrial paints and coatings based in Lille, France, with operations throughout Europe. This transaction completes Rohm and Haas Co.'s divestiture of its Automotive Coatings business, which started with the sale of the its Automotive Coatings operations in North America (United States, Canada and Mexico) and the Asia Pacific region to Nippon Paint Co., Ltd., in October 2006.

The company also has signed a definitive agreement to sell its UCD Colorants business to NB Coatings, Inc., of Lansing, IL. The sale is expected to close on July 13th. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Rohm and Haas’s UCD Colorants business consists of a wide range of pigment dispersion systems used in marine, industrial maintenance, high performance and other coatings for metal, plastic and wood. The business includes aqueous, solvent-borne and solvent-free technologies.
