DuPont Performance Coatings has officially opened its new, state-of-the-art training facility in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Canada. The facility serves customers located in eastern Ontario, Quebec, the Atlantic Provinces and northeastern U.S., and supports a range of industrial segments, including collision repair, aviation, industrial coatings, commercial fleet, and original equipment manufacturers heavy-duty truck and bus.

Construction of the training center was completed in December 2006. The large, ultra-modern center features a 12,000-square-foot production area with dedicated paint facilities for DuPont Refinish, Standox® and Spies Hecker® brands, an oversized booth that can accommodate up to 12 students, and the latest equipment for waterborne and solvent-based technologies. It also includes a 6,000-square-foot office area that contains two large classrooms, a cafeteria and offices. The classrooms are equipped with the latest audio/visual equipment and can facilitate long-distance training via satellite to make training more convenient and accessible.

"We have an ongoing commitment to help our customers and distributors become more successful in their business and technical operations, and the training center will play a key role in helping us meet that commitment," said Brian Edwards, manager, DuPont Performance Coatings, Canada.
