International Paint LLC, an Akzo Nobel company, has introduced two new ultra-low VOC 100 g/l coatings formulated specifically for the new construction and industrial maintenance and repair markets. Under development for more than two years, Interthane™ 2100 polyurethane finish and Interseal® 1100 surface tolerant epoxy reportedly deliver unprecedented performance and applicability, while meeting the strict 100 g/l air emission standard as set forth by California’s South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD).

Under development for more than two years, Interthane™ 2100 polyurethane finish and Interseal® 1100 surface tolerant epoxy reportedly deliver unprecedented performance and applicability, while meeting the strict 100 g/l air emission standard as set forth by California’s South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD).
Interthane 2100 is a highly durable, two-component, high solids polyurethane finish that provides superior gloss and color retention in a variety of new construction and industrial environments. The finish is available in a range of colors through the Chromascan® remote color matching system, which allows specific site color requirements to be met rapidly and in low volumes when required.
Interseal 1100 is a two-component, high build, anticorrosive epoxy coating, capable of being applied as a single or multi-coat system over abrasive blasted, hydroblasted, or mechanically prepared steel surfaces. Interseal 1100 has a high degree of tolerance for application onto damp surfaces, and unlike most high solids epoxies, the primer does not require the use of specialized equipment for application.
Extensive field testing has validated that coatings with these low emissions do not compromise end-user performance expectations.
