Henkel has reorganized its automotive division to better align its product portfolio with specific customer needs. The new focus is expected to assist the company’s ability to reduce costs, improve quality, and meet environmentally responsible standards for its customers.

“This alignment enables Henkel to strengthen its position as a primary source for complete vehicle assembly needs of the production process and all components,” said Dan Wohletz, vice president, Automotive North America, Henkel. “Combined with our ongoing commitment to technology and innovation, this streamlined approach will provide our customers with an operational framework that will make it easier for them to do business with us.”

Henkel has aligned its business structure into groups, which encompass the total vehicle, including Automotive Coatings, focusing on core coating technologies including Bonderite®, Aquence® and e-coat products; Body Assembly, focusing on providing an integrated approach to addressing customer needs in NVH (noise, vibration, harshness), structural and sealing solutions; Chassis and Exterior Components, focusing on the traditional frame and chassis segment with additional focus on steering and ride control, jobbers and coaters, wheels, brakes and exterior accessories; and Powertrain, focusing on engine and axle assemblies, transmissions, and powertrain control modules.

Henkel also will continue to provide advanced engineering solutions to the complete vehicle, including interior and lighting solutions, along with chemical management services, testing and analysis and equipment capabilities. In addition to these groups, Henkel has created a Japanese and Korean Key Account division, to focus on supporting the growth of automotive OEMs and suppliers in the Japanese and Korean markets.
