BASF Coatings Spa is now a supplier for Arçelik A.S., Europe’s third largest producer of household appliances. The agreement calls for an initial delivery of liquid e-coat paints for coating dryers produced on the new production line at the plant in Çerkezköy, Turkey.

BASF Coatings Spa is now a supplier for Arçelik A.S., Europe’s third largest producer of household appliances. The Turkish company, with production sites in Romania, China and Russia, has a 50-year history in the household appliance sector.

The agreement with BASF Coatings Spa calls for an initial delivery of liquid e-coat paints for coating dryers produced on the new production line at the plant in Çerkezköy, Turkey. Up to 80% of the appliances are destined for export. With more than 17,000 employees, 11 production sites in four countries, and 13 subsidiaries outside Turkey, Arçelik combines nine of its own brands from the household appliance sector, including Grundig and Blomberg.

The partnership was based on Arçelik’s good experience with BASF SE, since the latter is already supplying other products. According to BASF, the crucial factor for Arçelik’s choice of BASF Coatings Spa as a partner was the quality of the products and the good teamwork. The Turkish company was especially impressed by the quality of BASF Coatings Spa’s liquid e-coat paints and the potential to cut costs in the application process.
