MUTTENZ, Switzerland – Clariant opened a second production unit for the flame retardant Exolit® OP at the Hürth-Knapsack plant near Cologne, Germany. The non-halogenated additive is used primarily in the electronics and electrical engineering sector. The new facility doubles the capacity for diethyl phosphinic acid aluminum salt-based flame retardants. The company has also developed two non-halogenated flame retardantss in Hürth-Knapsack specifically for epoxy resins.
The infrastructure of the Knapsack Chemical Park and the location of the site close to Cologne allow for reliable production and ensure a high level of delivery reliability.
