Clariant brings its brand values, Performance.People.Planet, to life at the European Coatings Show. The company is presenting a multitude of sustainable and innovative value-creating solutions for the global automotive, industrial, decorative and wood coatings markets at Stand 7-123. A major spotlight is on “Sustainability” and “Ease of Use” of products, where Clariant offers comprehensive and viable opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve the environmental compatibility of products.
“By utilizing the expertise of our various Business Units, Clariant is able to appreciate, and therefore better support the global and specific needs of customers across the many market segments of the paints and coatings industry,” comments Christian Kohlpaintner, Member of the Executive Committee, Clariant. “This leads to sustainable and innovative solutions that create value and meet our customers’ goals and expectations.”
Products featured this year include:
Dispersogen® PL 30:
Clariant is showcasing a first selection of products that will be awarded with the EcoTain label, including Dispersogen PL30 – the company’s innovation for pigment preparations. The EcoTain label represents Clariant’s sustainability efforts at the product level. A holistic approach expressed in a four-phase life cycle, EcoTain provides a means of assessing and understanding the ecological, economic and social impact of Clariant’s products and business activities over the entire value chain.
Easily Dispersible Pigments:
Easily Dispersible (ED) pigments offer the opportunity to combine cost reduction with operational efficiency by simplifying the pigment dispersion process for organic pigments. With this innovative approach, ED Pigments are an easy and sustainable solution to achieve perfect colors.
Clariant’s flame retardants for intumescent coatings are an ideal method for combining an attractive architectural appearance with excellent fire safety. The ammonium phosphate (APP) Exolit AP line of products emits no emissions during processing and disperses readily in compatibility with most binders. In the event of fire, they reduce smoke corrosivity and density considerably.
Ceridust 7820 TP and Ceridust 8330 TP provide renewable resource-based solutions for powder coatings and printing inks, respectively. At high wax concentrations, Ceridust 7820 TP shows almost no matting and virtually eliminates pinholes without reducing the gloss level, for high-quality surfaces. Ceridust 8330TP is a powerful, rub-resistance additive for all ink systems based on a natural polymer.
Clariant offers coatings manufacturers a major step forward in enhancing the durability and UV protection of waterborne coatings with new high-performance UV absorber Hostavin 3330 disp. XP. The first high-loaded triazine dispersion allows waterborne coatings to achieve the performance of conventional solventborne systems at optimized costs.
POS Tinting Systems:
When Clariant acquired Italtinto in April 2011, the company gained more than 40 years of experience in tinting systems. As a result, Clariant now provides its worldwide customers with Point-of-Sale (POS) Tinting Systems, a comprehensive solution to meet all their color needs.
