ATLANTA – J.M. Huber Corp., Edison, NJ, the parent company of Huber Engineered Materials, has received the IMD-Lombard Odier Global Family Business Award for 2013.
Awarded by IMD, a top-ranked global business school based in Switzerland, and Lombard Odier & Cie, a leading private banker in Europe, the annual prize recognizes a company that unites family interests with those of the business and combines tradition and innovation while demonstrating a clear commitment to the local communities in which it operates. Two key factors separate this award from others: it is international in scope and highlights the contributions that family businesses — and their employees — make to the global economy.
Founded in 1883 and now in its fifth generation of family ownership, the J.M. Huber Corp. is one of the largest family-owned businesses in the United States. It had revenues of about $1.5 billion in 2012, operates in more than 20 countries and employs approximately 4,000 people globally. In addition to Huber Engineered Materials, Huber’s portfolio of companies includes Huber Engineered Woods, CP Kelco, Demica and Huber Resources Corp.
