BETHESDA, MD - The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) will host its Spring Convention, EXPO and PSA Short Course at the Hyatt Grand Cypress in Orlando April 28-30, 2014. The three events are expected to draw 600 attendees including formulation chemists, R&D technicians and business analysts to the largest gathering of adhesive and sealant professionals serving North America.

Keynote speakers for the event include Jeff Dietrich, of Institute for Trend Research, who will present “Forward Thinking: 2014 & Beyond,” and Dwight Tozer, of ExxonMobil, who will present “The Abundant U.S. Shale Gas Supplies are Revitalizing the Petrochemical Industry.”

During the convention portion of the program, more than 50 papers will be shared covering topics such as trends within the medical sector, market opportunities within the EU, China and South and Central America, and growth opportunities within PSA in North America. Sessions will also explore regulatory challenges, including Rule 1168 in California and the expected TSCA Reform Bill from Congress. A full-day track focused on raw materials will be available. The convention will also have at least 20 sessions dedicated to advanced technologies and formulation strategies.

During the event, ASC will unveil two new reports that are under development: The Central and South American Market Report and The PSA in North America Market Report. Also new to the convention will be a networking program designed to connect attendees for one-on-one networking. The program, called EasyLink, will ensure that any member, full-paid attendee will connect to any one person they would like to meet.

ASC will produce its PSA Short Course as part of the co-located event. The meeting will be held April 28-29 and will feature industry professionals, raw material suppliers and academics providing a strong technical overview of PSA as a formulation technology. Subjects will include an introduction to PSA markets, PSA production, end-user opportunities and issues, and characterization and formulation.

The EXPO will take place during the afternoon of April 29. This year, it will feature approximately 75 companies and will include a networking reception.
